Production of unfortified wine accounted for 99.2% of the total beverage wine. Red/rose wine made up 472.3ML or 49.5% of the 2006-07 beverage wine, a decrease of 39.2% on 2005-06. White wine accounted for 474.7ML, a fall of 23.7% on the previous year. Fortified wine production of 8.0ML was 37% lower than in 2005-06.
South Australia produced 442.7ML or 46.4% of the total production, followed by New South Wales with 324.1ML (33.9%) and Victoria 142.7ML (14.9%). Again, across the board with the exception of Western Australia which was steady, all States produced fewer ML of wine in 2006-07 compared with 2005-06.
